The artists of Maye River Gallery have been restoring the remnants of an old garden behind the Gallery, replete with picket fence and grape arbor. The grand plan is that the plantings, intended to provide a backdrop for art, would also serve the purpose of housing and attracting wildlife.
Their careful work and planning under the guidance of Laurie Flanagan of Garden Design, has resulted in the garden being accepted as a Certified Wildlife Habitat in the National Wildlife Federation program.
The Garden is whimsical; the Art imaginative; from outdoor sculpture, ceramics and ironwork to mosaic, mixed media and birdhouses woven from long leaf pine.
